Supervisors in the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office were allegedly ordered to falsify training records for Robert Bates, the reserve deputy who's been charged with manslaughter for shooting and killing Eric Harris. Bates was given credit for field training he never took and firearms certification he shouldn't have received, Tulsa World reports. The newspaper's sources say at least three supervisors were transferred for refusing to sign off on Bates' state-required training.

Sheriff Stanley Glanz said Bates has been certified to use three weapons but that the department can't find records of the certifications. He also denied the department falsified training records. The Sheriff's Office has released as summary of training courses Bates has been given credit for but hasn't shown who signed off on the training.

"There aren’t any secrets in law enforcement," Undersheriff Tim Albin said. "Zero. Those types of issues would have come up."

Following this report, the Sheriff's Office said it's launching an internal review into its reserve deputy program.
