Miss your old Game Boy? The video game accessory manufacturer Hyperkin wants to fix that.

On March 31, Hyperkin posted some concept art on Facebook—the gadget looked like half of an old school Nintendo Game Boy made to fit an iPhone 6. It would let you play Game Boy and Game Boy Color cartridges right on your phone. Hyperkin called it the Smart Boy, which is clever, but it was almost too clever. It was almost certainly an April Fools Day joke, since it went up the night before the prankster holiday.

But the post also got nearly 400 shares—and now Hyperkin is actually developing the Smart Boy. They announced this on their Facebook page:

A lot of you were speculating that the Smart Boy is an April Fools' Joke. Well, it sort of was. We "leaked" it with the initial intent of testing the market, seeing whether or not it should be something we'd actually make, under the guise of an April Fools' Joke.

So, great idea or best idea? At least it sounds like it's going to be a profitable one. No release date has been set, but you can rest easy knowing that one company is working on reviving your '90s childhood. Although, this isn't the first time we've heard this.
