Man Accidentally Discharges Gun During Easter Mass

The man has a permit to carry the weapon.

In a freak accident, a Pennsylvania man who brought a loaded gun to church for Easter mass accidentally fired it when he stood up.

The Associated Press reports that the unidentified man was at the the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in Altoona, Pa. for an Easter vigil mass on on Saturday night. Police say that the gun's safety was not on, so when he rose from his kneeling position, the weapon discharged.

According to the Associated Press, the man has a license to legally carry the weapon, and, luckily, no one was injured. At the time, local police and the Blair County district attorney's office are trying to decide if charges should be filed.
