Kim Kardashian West — mother, entrepreneur, star of her own video game — is watching her beautiful baby girl North West grow up. And North, who is all of 20 months old, already has some big interests: her dad's phone, her own Timberlands, going to fashion week. But her biggest obsession? Kim says it's backpacks.
In an interview with Elle, Kim discussed motherhood, style, and her new baby clothing line — and how North is developing her own style:
She dresses really simple, and she's not really a fussy dresser except for every morning and says "shoes," and has to put on a pair of shoes. [...] She just discovered backpacks so she love to put them on. She had a big pink poodle [backpack] that her friend sent her, and she loves sandals, so she was wearing these really, like, wild sandals.
Let's overlook the fact that North already has friends, and at least one of these friends has sent her some luggage as a gift. The girl is clearly becoming a fashionista in her own right, even though her fixation on backpacks really comes out in this next anecdote from Kim:
She's always loved to carry—every time I have my big luggage and we're going on vacation, she'll try to take my big luggage and carry it herself, so we got the Frozen suitcase so she has to carry it everywhere. It took us about 30 minutes longer to get through the airport because she had to carry her suitcase herself. She didn't want to be picked up, she didn't want anything. She did ride on it, but other than that, she has to do it. She's very independent.
Hold up, North! Don't grow up so fast! There will be plenty of time for carrying the big kid luggage around. For now, keep riding in style.
