When you hit your mid-twenties, a weird thing happens—you begin to get pulled in two separate directions. Half of your being starts yearning to settle down, to find love and become an "adult." The other half though, the half that still remembers senior year, wants to bash those mature yearnings in the face and black out. X/Y, written and directed by Ryan Piers Williams, is about this crossroad.

The movie tells the story about a group of friends who are caught between Generations X and Y, trying to navigate the conundrum of adulthood in New York City. It's messy stuff.

For example, check out the clip above from X/Y, where America Ferrera's character gets involved with an extremely overeager co-worker (played by Common). When they first hooked up, this smooth dude with a caramel voice probably seemed like the answer to all of this girl's problems—but clearly she's having second thoughts. Meanwhile, all he's thinking about is sex and double shots of tequila. Such is life.

X/Y is out in theaters today, as well as on iTunes and Video on Demand. Watch the full trailer here.
