Police in Colorado have arrested a woman who stabbed a pregnant woman in the stomach, then removed her unborn baby.
According to the Associated Press, the victim, who was seven months pregnant, was at the aggressor's Longmont, Colo. home yesterday afternoon to purchase clothes for her unborn child. The 34-year-old aggressor had posted an ad on Craigslist, the Associated Press adds.
Police who were summoned to the residence found the 26-year-old victim bleeding, and rushed her to the hospital, where she underwent surgery. The Associated Press reports that the aggressor came to the hospital with the child, claiming to have had a miscarriage. Tragically, the doctors were unable to save the baby.
The Longmont Police Department arrested the suspect, charging her with first-degree assault, attempted first-degree murder, knowingly and recklessly resulting in a death, and child abuse.
