Star Trek fans, beware: the following is a rumor and may play with your heart. The Latino Review has a report saying that CBS will bring the beloved space saga back to television. Ahhh!

So there may be a new Star Trek release in our near future even if we're not graced with an Idris Elba-studded Star Trek 3 (but let's hope we are).

Now, sure, saying Star Trek will come on back TV is like saying women will get equal pay, or we'll land on Mars—it's often talked about, but skeptics abound. But the Latino Review's report gives us some reasons to believe. For one, it names names: the report specifically says that Bryan Singer might executive produce the television series. Singer—who has worked on X-Men movies and shows like House—got connected with the rumored CBS project through his production company Bad Hat Harry. The Latino Review also specifies some potential plot lines.

Nothing is confirmed yet, but considering all the hype around the upcoming Star Trek 3 movie, a new television series sounds super profitable, if done well.

If the rumors turn out to be false though, let's all take it better than William Shatner.
