Police in California arrested a teacher earlier this week after she reportedly locked herself inside of a classroom and began stripping her clothes off with students present.

According to NBC San Diego, 31-year-old Linda Lira began behaving erratically at Lemon Grove Academy on Wednesday. When her behavior began to alarm students, they utilized the after school assistant's radio to call for assistance.

NBC San Diego adds that, after battling with Lira to get into the classroom, staff members at Lemon Grove Academy were eventually able to get the students out safely. However, when deputies with the San Diego County Sheriff's Office police arrived, Lira began to behave strangely once again:

By the time deputies arrived, Lira had barricaded herself in the classroom again. Deputies say she was throwing things, toppling over desks and putting on and removing her clothes over and over again.

Lira, who the staff said appeared to be under the influence of some drug, was eventually taken into custody. She was charged with several counts of false imprisonment and child endangerment.
