Police in Los Angeles are currently searching for the suspects who attacked a teenage couple this week, striking a 16-year-old girl in the back of the head with a skateboard and leaving both with injuries.

The New York Daily News reports that Brooklyn Smith and boyfriend Toyon Carlson were attacked at Venice Beach Skate Park around 8:30 p.m. Thursday night. In video footage captured of the incident, one of the assailants hit Smith with the skateboard, knocking her to the ground immediately. As she lay on there, they kicked her repeatedly. Bystanders eventually came to their rescue.

According to KTLA, the fight started because the aggressors spotted Smith in a part of the city she had been told to stay out of following a fight. Smith, Carlson, and a third victim avoided serious injury, but doctors had to staple a 4-inch gash to her head, and Carlson was left with nine stitches to his lips and head. He also lost a tooth during the fight.

As of last night, no arrests have been made. The Daily News says the LAPD is seeking the victims' help in locating their attackers. Video of the attack can be seen below, but be advised that it's graphic.
