Suspect Charged With Shooting Ferguson Cops

Ferguson police have arrested a suspect in the case of two of their own officers who were shot during a protest.

Police have made an arrest in the case of two Ferguson, Missouri police officers who were shot during protests in the St. Louis suburb last week.

Fox 2 Now St. Louis reports that Jeffrey Williams, 20, has been charged with two counts of first-degree assault, firing a weapon from a vehicle and three counts of armed criminal action.

The officers were shot overnight on March 12, right outside the city's police headquarters, during protests/celebrations following the resignation of police chief Tom Jackson.

One officer was shot in the face, the other was hit in the shoulder. Both men survived.

During a news conference that aired live on CNN, St. Louis County prosecuting attorney Robert McCulloch told reporters that Williams admitted to firing the shots, but claims he was firing at someone else he had a dispute with, not directly at the officers.
