According to the Los Angeles Times, Dean Cain and Helen Slater have been cast in super secret roles for CBS' Supergirl. But it isn't super secret why they were cast: Slater played Supergirl in the 1984 movie. And Cain played Superman on ABC's Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. They both had cameo roles in the Superman teen-prequel series Smallville. Apparently the supers reside in a super small world. Does it get you super excited that some of the super-less-appealing superheroes are joining the CBS show?
Melissa Benoist will play Supergirl on the new series. Calista Flockhart and Mehcad Brooks also costar.
