CBS' Supergirl is starting to feel more real as we get our first look at Melissa Benoist as the superhero. Today the network released the first photos of Benoist in costume for the show set to premiere sometime during the 2015/2016 season. Colleen Atwood, who also does the wardobe for DC shows Arrow and The Flash, designed the costume.
"In designing Supergirl, I wanted to embrace the past, but more importantly, thrust her into the street-style action hero of today," Atwood told THR.

The series will follow Kara Zor-El, Superman's cousin, who was taken in by Danvers on Earth after her home planet of Krypton was destroyed. Calista Flockhart, True Blood's David Harewood, and Grey's Anatomy's Chyler Leigh are also set to star in the show picked up by CBS last year.
