In her first public appearance since her moving NYT op-ed, Angelina Jolie showed up at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards to accept the traditional orange blimp figurine for her performance in Maleficent. After hugging her children (Jolie was accompanied by Shiloh and Zahara to the festivities), Jolie made her way to the stage to avoid slime and offer a simple but profound message for her younger fans.
"Different is good," Jolie told the audience. "So don't fit in, don't sit still, never try to be less than what you are, and when someone tells you that you're different, smile and hold your head up high."
