Somewhere out there, Nicolas Cage is asking "how was I not in that awards show?!"

Andy Samberg, SNL veteran, star of the hit series Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Emmy winner for putting his dick in a box with Justin Timberlake, is going to host the 67th Emmy Awards when the show moves to his home network of Fox this September.

He popped up on the 2014 Emmy Awards for a montage with Weird Al Yankovic.  That broadcast that was hosted by his former Samberg's former SNL castmate Seth Meyers, but Samberg was long predicted to  be the obvious choice for this year's show, Deadline reports.

Samberg made a statement with the announcement:

“Buckle your seat belts, Emmy viewers!,” said Samberg. “Like, in general you should buckle your seat belts in your car. In fact, even if you’re not an Emmy viewer, you should buckle your seat belt. It can be dangerous on the road. Also, if you’re not an Emmy viewer, you should strongly consider becoming one this year, because I’m hosting, and it’s gonna be a wild ride. So buckle your seat belts.”

See, it's already hilarious.

The nominees will be announced July 16 and the awards show will air Sept. 20.
