Move over, Men at Work and Sullivan & Son, TBS has axed yet another one of its comedies this season. Ground Floor, Bill Lawrence's (Scrubs, Cougar Town) workplace romp, did not survive the chopping block. The series finale for the second season aired on February 10th and won't be returning to the network for a third.
The Turner-owned network is trimming the fat as they look to branch out with more offbeat, grittier content to remain afloat in super saturated, highly competitive scripted landscape. Seth MacFarlane's animated series American Dad is the longest running comedy survivor on TBS.
Other than stacking syndication checks, there is no word if Bill Lawrence has any future projects coming down the pipe with the network.
