Bill Cosby Is the Only Person Glad Eddie Murphy Wouldn't Impersonate Him on "SNL"

A rare statement from the comedian.

Norm McDonald teased us last night with an epic tale of what could have been. In a lengthy stream of tweets the comedian shared the process of making the "Celebrity Jeopardy" sketch for Saturday Night Live's 40th anniversary special. Despite his best efforts, McDonald couldn't get Eddie Murphy onboard to impersonate alleged rapist Bill Cosby

For most of us this was a huge disappointment, but the alleged rapist himself is glad Murphy is one of few people who won't make fun of him. "I am very appreciative of Eddie and I applaud his actions," he told NBC News through a spokesperson.

Fortunately, Kenan Thompson was totally down, and we weren't robbed completely of a shot at the once beloved comedian. Watch the skit below if you haven't seen it already.
