Amy Poehler did wierd stuff before she was famous.

The Second City comedy troupe is on a roll this week, leaking rare never-before-seen footage of some of its alumni who blossomed into globally famous entertainers. Amy Poehler is the newest "victim", as a strange, hilariously dated clip from a failed pilot called RVTV blessed the e-streets today. The show focuses on Poehler, in all of her 90's normcore glory, as she and fellow hackers (improv legends Matt Dwyer and Del Close) infiltrate "the web" mainframes of Right-wing entities from a sketchy RV.

The pilot, co-written by Step Brothers director Adam McKay, features a whole bunch of obsolete Internet technology and parlance, Clinton-era politics and Poehler radiating the charisma of a star, even when acting in bizarro low-budget rubbish. The show never made it to air, and that's probably for the best.

This reel is clearly meant to celebrate Poehler's roots as an underground improv comedian in contrast to the A-list echelon in which she resides today, and it sure is a treat. I can't wait to see this spliced into her inevitable Lifetime Achievement Award one day.
