If you choose not to go with The Force on Christmas Day (if you somehow manage to wait that long) one alternative is the force that mushes the brains of professional athletes. Will Smith's NFL drama Concussion has been set for a Dec. 25 release date. It will take the place of Mission Impossible 5, which has been moved up to July 31 to avoid competing with Star Wars VII

The film, written and directed by Peter Landesman, is based on a 2009 GQ story about Dr. Bennet Omalu, the neurologist who blew the whistle on the NFL's concussion problem. Smith will play Omalu, with Alec Baldwin and Luke Wilson also on the bill.

This isn't the only GQ story to get the Hollywood treatment. Nicolas cage will star as Gary Faulkner in Army of One, a movie loosely based on the magazines profile of a man who traveled to Afghanistan alone to kill Osama Bin Laden.
