Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro being directed by Martin Scorsese. Sounds like some kind of dream movie, doesn’t it? Well, if you’re an insanely rich casino in the Philippines, you can bring in all three just to shoot a couple ads.

With a reported budget of $70 million, these ads for the brand new City of Dreams Manila casino certainly aim high in drawing attention to themselves. They feature DiCaprio and De Niro “vying” for the same role in a Scorsese movie, even though they basically share nothing in common. It’s unclear if these two spots are all they made, or if there’s more to come (the second ad hints at a possible Brad Pitt cameo).

For their two days of shooting, the three men were each compensated to the tune of $13 million apiece. Not bad work if you can get it.

This ad campaign seems like a colossal waste of money, until you remember that casinos basically pull in that much in a weekend.
