People are still obsessing over the new trailer for season five of Game of Thrones, but the fantasy drama is also breaking new ground at the box office. Yes, we said box office. It's actually the first TV show ever to be shown in theaters—the two-part season four finale is playing at 205 IMAX screens this week only.

It stands to make $2 million by tomorrow, giving it a per-screen average of over $9,000. For reference, surprise moneymaker American Sniper is averaging $7,000 per screen. The two-hour episode was remastered for IMAX and will play until Friday, February 6. The exclusive season five trailer is also being shown.

"The cinematic brilliance and grand scope of the series is perfect for the IMAX format," HBO chief marketing officer Pamela Levine said last month. "We are always looking to provide fans with new and exciting ways to experience the show and viewing two key episodes, along with the new trailer, on such an impressive platform makes for a great event."

Season five premieres on HBO April 12.
