Some very, very important research at Emory University has delivered some of the best news you’ve had in a while: smoking a joint every single day does not seem to have any negative long-term effects.

The study—which will be published in the Annals of the American Thoracic Society—examined adults aged 18 to 49 and measured their ability to exhale at a normal rate. They found that daily marijuana use over 20 years had no impact, which is a good thing since exhalation ability is how doctors usually detect lung disease.

So next time someone tries to tell you weed is unhealthy, fling this study in their face, kick back, and light one up (if it’s legal in your state, of course).
