If ever you worry about our country’s ability to unite behind a cause, remember The Interview.
In what has been one of the First Amendment’s finest hours, movie theaters across the United States have agreed to screen the controversial film much to the delight of President Obama and lovers of freedom everywhere. Just having it in theaters in not enough, however; if we as Americans want to show North Korea that we will not bow down to terrorists, we all must go see the movie at least once this weekend.
Whether the James Franco/Seth Rogen vehicle is any good is completely beside the point. It’s a matter of principle. It’s about showing that we are not afraid. It’s about standing tall and proud behind your nation. Honestly, before the movie begins every theater should play the Star Spangled Banner.
