Star Trek fans will get to live long and prosper after all. Earlier this month Star Trek 3 director, Roberto Orci, stepped down as director, leaving the film leaderless until now. Justin Lin has just been chosen as the film’s new director.

This all started when J.J. Abrams, who directed the first two Star Trek reboots, left the series to direct a small sci-fi movie you may have heard of, Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

Lin is best known for his directing work in the great Fast and Furious franchise. Most recently for True Detective, which he was rumored to be directing come the show's second season, but that's probably kaput.
