Florida doesn't exactly have a reputation for being a state sympathetic to the plight of African-Americans. In the past few years, several high-profile cases involving Florida's Stand Your Ground law have resulted in the deaths of unarmed black men.
Nevertheless, today the Miami Herald published one of the most profound political cartoons about the Eric Garner case. In it, cartoonist Jim Morin illustrates Garner's wife's recent quote comparing Officer Daniel Pantaleo's choke hold to a "modern day lynching," and the result is the horrifying and completely unforgettable image above.
