With 20 accusations and counting under his belt, Bill Cosby could toe the “no comment” line no longer. The comedian finally broke his silence via Twitter:
Thank you @WhoopiGoldberg.

Thank you @MissJillScott, from the Cosby Family.

Ah, at last! Resolution to this horrible series of accusations!
Wait a minute…never mind.
Goldberg had defended Cosby on The View a couple weeks ago, saying “Perhaps the police might have believed [the allegation], or the hospital. Don’t you do a kit when you say someone has raped you? I hope somebody gets to the bottom of this, but I’m going to reserve my judgment because I have a lot of questions, as I said. It’s crazy, but I have a lot of questions, because I know we all have friends who have gone through this.”
Scott went to war with her Twitter followers when she defended Cosby. Here are a few examples of her exchanges:
@SimplyBerry u know Bill Cosby? I do child and this is insane. Proof. Period.

@JasBaileyTweets sides with Mr. Cosby? No. I side with substantiated proof when media/society is attempting to destroy a magnificent Legacy

It certainly takes some guts to defend Cosby these days, given the numerous allegations against him spanning many decades. Maybe Goldberg and Scott would be willing to chip in for his $100 million hearing with Gloria Allred?
