Boyhood has suffered no shortage of acclaim this year. Critics around the country are naming it the best movie of the year, and now Barack Obama is joining the praise party. In an interview with People he said the Richard Linklater film is his favorite of 2014

Michelle, however, declined to give her favorite. But she did weigh in on the never-ending book vs. movie debate by saying "I read Gone Girl a couple summers ago, which is one of my favorites. The book is much better than the movie."

Sorry, David Fincher. That one has to hurt. Linklater, on the other hand, should be framing Obama's interview and displaying it proudly. It'll look great in his home even if he doesn't win an Oscar.
