The "Wonder Woman" Movie Is Close to Hiring a Female Director

Michelle MacLaren is reportedly in consideration to direct Warner Bros.' 2017 "Wonder Woman" movie."

The lack of female directors in Hollywood is well-documented. Especially for superhero movies. Michelle MacLaren is reportedly in consideration to shake up that patriarchy and direct Warner Bros.' 2017 Wonder Woman film. If hired she would be the first woman to direct a superhero film since Punisher: War Zone came out in 2008.

MacLaren isn't a big name yet, but she's directed episodes of some of the most popular shows on television. Her credits include 11 episodes of Breaking Bad, three episodes of The Walking Dead (including the season four finale), and four episodes of Game of Thrones

We really can't see any reason why Warner Bros. shouldn't hire MacLaren. Her background is similar to Alan Taylor's when he was chosen to direct Thor: The Dark World. And it would seem plain wrong to hire someone without two x chromosomes to head up a movie about a feminist icon. Don't be surprised if this news becomes official soon.
