Suspect Who Opened Fire at Buildings in Dowtown Austin Killed by Police

No one else was injured.

A man who reportedly shot at multiple buildings in downtown Austin, Texas and may have been carrying explosives was shot and killed by local police this morning, authorities say. 

According to the Associated Press, police in Austin fielded 911 calls about someone shooting at buildings. Assistant Police Chief Raul Munguia told the Associated Press that some bullets struck police headquarters, and noted that an officer saw the suspect clad in some type of vest before shooting him. 

The Associated Press adds that the man's vehicle was parked near a number of important buildings including a U.S. federal courthouse and the police headquarters. 

Police say no one else was injured in the shooting. The suspect has yet to be identified, and police are trying to determine if there were explosives inside of his vehicle.
