So, you want to make it in Hollywood? You may want to give this horror movie a look first and learn a valuable lesson: Tinseltown is a nightmarish place full of shattered dreams, murder, and malevolent cults.

At least that’s the case in Starry Eyes, the new indie shocker from co-directors Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer. In it, Sarah Walker (Alexandra Essoe) wants nothing more than to be a big-time movie star, but she keeps tanking one audition after another. While serving crappy food at Los Angeles’ Big Taters fast food joint, she lands an audition that changes everything—it’s for a schlocky low-budget horror flick called The Silver Scream and produced by a group of seedy characters known as Astraeus Pictures. Sarah impresses them, for all the wrong reasons, and it doesn’t take long for her ambition to make her do some awful, gruesome things. People’s heads will be caved in by dumbbells; limbs will start falling off. And you’ll enjoy every nasty second of it.

Starry Eyes had its world premiere at this year’s SXSW Film Festival, which is where we first fell in love with it. Which is why today, the day before the Dark Sky Films release opens in limited theaters and on digital VOD, we’re excited to premiere an exclusive new poster for the film. As you can see, poor Sarah’s really going through hell up in Hollywood.

Starry Eyes opens in limited theaters and on digital VOD tomorrow, via Dark Sky Films. Learn more about the film here.
