Channing Tatum keeps getting involved in cool shit.

And not only cool shit like popping up in the most self-deprecating cameo ever in This Is The End and joining the X-Men universe as Gambit, but also serious actor shit, like the Oscar-bait drama Foxcatcherand now, possibly, another coveted role in beloved director Quentin Tarantino's western The Hateful Eight

Deadline's Mike Fleming Jr. says he's been "hearing" that Tatum is is "circling a major role" in the movie about a group of soldiers and bounty hunters who get stranded together trying to find shelter during a blizzard after the Civil War.

No word on what role Tatum might be considered for. It looks like Michael Madsen has already got dibs on the character with the best nickname ("The Cow Puncher"), and Samuel L. Jackson, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Kurt Russell are also confirmed.

The days of Tarantino plucking has-beens out of obscurity seem to be long over, but we could definitely get behind this casting.
