Testifying under oath in 2005, Bill Cosby revealed that he gave the National Enquirer a story discussing sexual assault allegations against him in exchange for the Enquirer squashing a second, similar assault story.
In a deposition taken on September 29, 2005 for a lawsuit filed by Andrea Constand, Cosby said that he “would give [The Enquirer] an exclusive story, my words,” and in return “they would not print the story of — print [Beth Ferrier’s] story.
Cosby further testified that he had received an advanced copy Ferrier’s Enquirer story, and that he had been told she passed a subsequent lie detector test. When Constand’s lawyer pressed Cosby as to whether he was purposely trying to make people think Constand wasn’t telling the truth, he replied “yes.”
It’s more bad news for Cosby, who seemingly finds a new way to look worse every day.
