Authorities say that two FBI agents were shot in St. Louis County, Mo. early this morning. The agency noted that the incident was not tied to protests taking place in Ferguson, Mo. following a grand jury's decision not to indict Darren Wilson for shooting Michael Brown in August.

According to the Associated Press, the shooting took place just before 3 a.m. as the agents helped members of the University City Police Department execute a warrant. FBI St. Louis Division Spokesperson Rebecca Wu said that one agent was shot in the leg, while the other sustained an injury to the shoulder.

Wu added that neither injury was life-threatening.
