Police in Louisiana arrested a man who attempted to transport methamphetamine by disguising it as candle wax.
The Smoking Gun reports that an authorities in Baton Rouge pulled over an El Expresso bus traveling from Mobile, Ala. yesterday morning. The routine traffic stop intensified when a drug detection dog sensed the presence of something illegal in the vehicle's cargo hold.
Luggage was inspected by the Highway Interdiction Unit, who discovered 48 Most Sacred Heart of Jesus candles holding meth mixed with the wax. Calls for an owner of the luggage were met with silence, so police searched the bag and found a photo of 19-year-old passenger Jose Antonio Rodriguez-Lara.
The Texas resident is currently being held on narcotics charges.
