After learning that a substitute teacher had sex with her 17-year-old son in the classroom of his D.C. high school, the boy's mother is filing a lawsuit against the woman.

Earlier this month, Symone Green was arrested for sexual assault of a minor for sleeping with a student at Options Public Charter School on Oct. 17. This was Green's first day as a substitute. Although the age of consent in D.C. is 16, Green was charged because she was the student's teacher.

Greene's affair with the student was exposed because the boy filmed his episodes with her. Despite her requests to keep their encounters secret, he reportedly shared the footage with his football teammates.

According to the Washington Post, the school district is also named in the $11 million lawsuit:

The lawsuit alleges that the teen’s teachers and principal knew that he has a learning disability, and that the school should not have left him alone in a room with a teacher on her first day of work. It also alleges that Greene was not properly vetted and that she should have confiscated the teen’s cellphone knowing it was against the rules to have it.
