With Batman’s 75th anniversary this year, everyone’s prone to look back on the caped crusader’s legacy—good and bad.

So of course, a cornerstone of that history, Batman’s nipples, born in the Joel Schumacher directed Batman & Robin, were recently pointed out, so-to-speak. 

Schumacher didn’t expect the nipplelash from fans, telling Variety:

“I was like, ‘Are you kidding me?’ I think that will be on my gravestone. It’s how I’ll be remembered.”
