A high school teacher in Texas was arrested after her sexual relationship with a student was uncovered by school officials.
The Smoking Gun reports that 24-year-old Ashley Zehnder, a biology teacher and assistant cheerleading coach at Pasadena High School, engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old male student. Administrators began an investigation after hearing rumors that Zehnder sent the student a naked photo of herself via Snapchat.
The investigation was triggered by a male student admitting to the assistant principal that he had a nude photo of Zehnder, explaining that he had received it from another student who claimed to have had sex with her. Police questioned the teen, also a member of the cheerleading team, who told them that he and Zehnder had been having sex since May of this year, providing detailed descriptions of her home and their sexual interactions.
When police spoke to Zehnder, she lied about everything until authorities presented messages from the teen's phone. Zehnder, who resigned from her position earlier this month, was charged with improper relationship with a student.
