White House Intruder Actually Got Inside, Despite What Initial Reports Said

This month's White House intruder got further inside than what officials disclosed.

The Washington Post just reported this month’s White House intruder actually made it inside past the front entrance.

The intruder, Omar Gonzalez, an Iraq War veteran, ran inside the White House and made it a “half-flight from the first family's living quarters" before running into the East Room, where he was eventually tackled and arrested.

Gonzalez, 42, had a knife on him and 800 rounds of ammunition, plus a machete and several axes, in his car.

According to a Secret Service official, he managed to get past the front door guards after the front entrance’s alarm failed to go off since it had been muted.

The incident occurred on Sept. 19, right after the President and his daughters had left for the weekend.

Gonzalez may receive up to 10 years in prison for unlawful entry with a weapon.
