Subtle, this is not.

A woman was arrested at JFK Airport today when she tried to tuck a small drug cartel into her carryon luggage and bring it onto a plane. Everything she would have needed to become the Pablo Escobar of marijuana was there: guns, ammo, and a whole lot of weed.

Perhaps next time she’ll learn to do these sorts of runs in stages. After all, did she really need to line all those random boxes with drugs? Why did she feel like she had to bring two guns on the plane, when one probably would have sufficed? Has she done this sort of heavy-duty delivery before?

Perhaps some day she’ll give the world an answer. Until then, though, the speculation will just have to continue.

UPDATE: The mystery woman has been identified as Nyesha McPherson, a 24-year-old Canadian woman who (according to a video on her Vine account) was in New York for the first time since 2003. The contraband was in her checked bag and weighed in at a whopping 33 pounds, as McPherson waited to take a flight to Barbados.

Her Twitter contains little of note, certainly nothing that would indicate that she was party to a massive drug smuggling operation. She did post this interesting nugget about a week and a half ago, however:

Her LinkedIn profile indicates that she works for Harry Rosen, a men's fashion chain in Canada. It's probably safe to assume that she did not make enough money as a "Clothing Advisor" to buy 33 pounds worth of weed and guns, although one never knows.
