James Franco is into some pretty weird stuff, but this look may top them all.
In his upcoming movie Zeroville, Franco is getting into character by shaving his head completely bald and sporting a tattoo of Liz Taylor and Montgomery Clift on the back of his head. Don’t worry, though, it’s actually for the movie, not some weird offshoot piece of performance art.
The movie is an adaptation of a 2007 bestseller by Steve Erickson, and stars Franco as a troubled architecture student who wants to be a Hollywood big shot. He clearly really is into movies, hence the tattoo on his head.
Franco has been sporting the look around Italy at the Venice Film Festival, where he attended the opening of his documentary The Director: An Evolution In Three Acts. No word on what he plans for an encore to this pretty bizarre performance, but hopefully it involves more tattoos.
