The Marvel film adaptation of Doctor Strange has been in the pipeline for what seems like forever, but now the movie has finally gotten a release date: July 8, 2016.
This long-gestating project is just one of the many films Marvel plans on releasing in the coming years, and why not? They basically are printing money with The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy franchises, so they might as well start branching out and adding to their warchest.
Rumors have swirled surrounding Joaquin Phoenix in the lead role, although that has yet to be confirmed. If they actually want to plan, make, and release this movie in less than two years, they better get cracking.
