Video: NYPD Forcefully Arrest Man at Rally for Michael Brown

A Michael Brown protest got out of hand in NYC as police officers were seen forcefully arresting a man in the street.

While Ferguson, Mo. had their calmest night on Wednesday since Michael Brown was shot and killed by police officer Darren Wilson on Aug. 9, a protest in New York City's East Village devolved into violence as at least one man was arrested and apparently assaulted by NYPD officers.

The man was arrested at about 10:00 p.m. near 10th Street. While being apprehended, video caught several police officers seemingly beating the man to the ground as many other protestors looked on.

About 200 people took to the streets of the East Village to protest the death of Brown and support the Ferguson community, mimicking their signature chants of "Hands up, don't shoot!" and "No justice, no peace." So far, there have been no other reports of violence at the rally.

This is the second time in a week that a New York City protest for Michael Brown has gotten out of control—on Aug. 14, thousands flooded Times Square in what briefly became a very dangerous situation.
