One person was killed and three more were injured after a trailer containing fireworks exploded near a Texas high school yesterday.

The Associated Press reports that the explosion happened at a baseball field near a Comanche, Texas high school as Kiwanis Club members set up fireworks in preparation for a Fourth of July celebration. Russell Reynolds died at the scene, while three others were hospitalized after sustaining serious injuries.

Today's celebration has been cancelled in light of the tragedy, and both the Texas fire marshal's office and U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are looking into the matter.
