Sarah Palin Angling for a Spot on "The View?"

Did Sarah Palin actually just suggest herself for a seat on "The View?" Could that actually happen?

If nothing else, Sarah Palin is certainly an opportunist.

The former Governor of Alaska just had her show Amazing America with Sarah Palin renewed for a second season by the Sportsman Channel, but that may not be the only TV opportunity she’s interested in pursuing. Palin told THR that she wouldn’t be into doing a political show because “I find [today’s politics] incorrigibly disastrous,” but then she had something rather interesting to say about a certain all-female talk show that is losing three of its four hosts after this season.

“I hear everyone recently got canned from The View,” she said. “Maybe a show like that needs a punch of reality and a voice of reason from America’s heartland to knock some humble sense into their scripts. You know, someone willing to go rogue.”

Oh goodness. Are we truly ready for a world where Palin and Whoopi Goldberg spar on women’s issues? From a human standpoint, we’re not sure we can endorse this.

If you’re a producer on The View, though, don’t you need to at least consider Palin? The goal is to reel in viewers and get ratings; you can’t honestly say that Palin wouldn’t generate a ton of buzz around the show and get people to tune in.

The people who love her can’t wait to hear what she has to say next, and the people who despise her, well, can’t wait to hear what she says next, either. Could she be a new era's Howard Stern?

OK, no more talking about this. We need a shower.
