What is it about child stars that makes them so prone to controversy? See: Nickelodeon, which just cancelled its popular comedy series Sam & Cat, after rumors of off-screen drama and possibly, some leaked racy photos. The show starred Complex cover girl Ariana Grandeand Jennette McCurdy, who's at the center of rumors about the show's demise.

The drama is focused around McCurdy, who's rumored to have complained that she was earning less than Grande, which Grande denied on Twitter. Also: Shortly after McCurdy and NBA star Andre Drummond broke up, photos of her in lingerie were leaked to the public in April. In a not-too-vague statement, she insinuated that Drummond had leaked them (which he denied, of course).

Around the same time, McCurdy skipped out on the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, which saw her show win Best TV Comedy Series and her co-star, Grande, win Best Comedy Actress. Whether this was the direct cause for the cancellation of the show or not, the timing adds up. Grande, for her part, released a note on her Facebook page that interestingly enough does not make mention of McCurdy at all. Uh oh.

Fans of the show will be treated to the final episode of Sam & Cat on Thursday, July 17th.
