July's weather has been less oppressive than usual of late, and a great way to enjoy a Saturday with low humidity is with ice cream. Tomorrow, the fourth annual DC Scoop aims to evoke all kinds of amazing childhood memories at Union Market (1309 5th St. NE) in the nation's capital.
Dock 5 will host the free event from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m., which will offer an assortment of ice cream, all the way from gelato to the traditional scoop we've all grown to love. There will be ice cream contests, there will be giveaways, and there will also be food on hand from Luke's Lobster and Timber Pizza Co. for those who desire something resembling a traditional meal.
