Emma Roberts and Zachary Quinto are joining James Franco in the upcoming drama Michael about an anti-gay pastor.
The film’s script is based on the New York Times Magazine article “My Ex-Gay Friend,” by Benoit Denizet-Lewis about Michael Glatze, who will be played by Franco, a Christian minister from Wyoming who was once gay and even founded a gay youth magazine before denying his homosexuality altogether.
In the film, Quinto will play an ex of Franco’s character. Roberts, on the other hand, will co-star as Franco’s girlfriend. Audiences just saw Roberts play Franco's love interest in Palo Alto.
Gus van Sant is the film’s executive producer and James Franco will be one of the producers.
