This fall will mark the return of one great comic based show: Arrow—Sorry, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.—and the debut of another one, The Flash.

Arrow executive producer, Andrew Kreisberg (also involved with The Flash), dished to EW about Arrow’s season three and the crossover episode between the two super shows.

He talked about the new nameless villain:

1.

“What’s interesting about the villain in season three is that he doesn’t necessarily disagree with [Oliver]. He doesn’t have any personal animus towards the Arrow, and he actually in some ways has a very similar worldview. [But] the Arrow is thinking too small.”

He explained how Oliver is having an identity issue trying to be the Arrow and Oliver. It seems the villain will be capitalizing on that by telling Oliver that being himself is holding him from his “true destiny.”

As for that cross over episode?Fans can expect it during the eighth episode of both shows. Kreisberg said: “It’s really going to be an adventure with the Arrow and Flash on both episodes. Watching the two teams come together and fight alongside each other, it’s one of the most fun parts.”

The show's will air back-to-back with Arrow season returning on October 8 and The Flash premiering on October 7.
