While it actually seems kind of weird that Will Forte hasn’t been on The Simpsons, now we’ll finally get to address that void in our lives.

The former SNL star and co-star of the Academy Award-nominated film Nebraska will help Simpsons fans resolve a question that has bugged them for years: who, exactly, is King Toot?

Simpsons fans will know that King Toot’s Music Store is located right next to Moe’s Tavern and is where Lisa gets all her saxophone supplies, but until now the owner of the establishment has remained a shadowy figure. That will no longer be the case, and it will be Forte playing the antagonistic role of King Toot himself.

In an interview with EW, Simpsons executive producer Matt Selman had this to say about the episode:

“[King Toot] and Moe have been neighbors for a long time and have gotten on each other’s nerves, and the tension has been building for years and years and years. When we meet King Toot, we can clearly tell that these guys have been driving each other crazy for 40 years. And it finally boils over because King Toot has put his garbage in Moe’s dumpster one time too many.”

Selman also went on to say that “This is the guy who thought of the pun. He named the store and so identifies with the pun that he refers to himself as King Toot. Having said that, he’s just a middle-age music store weirdo.”

It sure sounds like there’s going to be some sort of ceremonial head dress, and possibly a litter involved. We’ll have to wait until the episode airs this November to find out for sure, though.
