Numerous pictures have surfaced showing fleets of ISIS pick-up trucks. In the era of armored Humvees and tanks it is strange to see pick-up trucks being used in combat. Of course, a great disadvantage of using pick-up trucks is that they aren't the best protected vehicles. But, what they lack in armor, they make up for in speed. A large part of the attention ISIS has received on an International stage stems from just how fast they have moved through Iraq. On June 10th, ISIS took Mosul. By June 12th, they were 200 miles south of Mosul staging an assault on Dhuluiya, having staged five attacks in one week. Vehicles with larger arsenals and significant armor would never have been able to maintain that pace.
