Everyone's favorite dating app for rapid-fire superficiality, Tinder, announced plans recently to roll out a photo messaging system called Moments. The feature, which will allow users to exchange photos with their Tinder matches, is very similar to Snapchat in that shared photos will automatically disappear after a certain period of time. How much time you ask? TWENTY-FOUR HOURS.
Yes, according to Tinder Co-Founder and CEO Sean Rad, the company's private photos will be assessable for a full day, a big departure from the 10-seconds-then-gone system Snapchat users have become accustomed to over the years.
“Pictures will disappear within 24 hours,” said Rad in a recent interview. His goal with the new feature? "To help users to get to know their matches better.”
With a full 24 hours to access (and share, compare, print, paint, sculpt, etc.) these photos, nobody should doubt Moments' ability to do just that.
